Chair (Full Professor) Long-run development of Global Wellbeing (1.0 FTE)

Utrecht University is searching for a professorship in the ‘Long-Run Development of Global Wellbeing’. The chair forms part of the section of Economic and Social History (ESH) of the Department of History and Art History. The Chair will be expected to play a prominent role together with scholars at Utrecht University in the multidisciplinary initiatives within the strategic theme Institutions for Open Societies (IOS). He/she should have, or develop, a research agenda that on the one hand is interdisciplinary and addresses the core issues of the IOS programme and, on the other hand, fits within the research programme of the ESH group, which addresses global inequality with both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Teaching will involve the interdisciplinary Politics, Philosophy and Economics BA-programme, BA and MA History courses, as well as collaboration in efforts to develop new possibilities for interdisciplinary education.
