CFP : Young Researchers Days in Logic, History, and Philosophy of Science VIII
Young Researchers Days in Logic, History, and Philosophy of Science VIII
When and where:
*23 and 24 November 2023
*Salle Prigogine, The Royal Academies for Science and the Arts of Belgium, 1 Hertogstraat/rue Ducale, B-1000 Brussels
Aims and scope:
Two Belgian scientific societies promoting research in the History of Science, Philosophy of Science and Logic –the National Committee for Logic, History and Philosophy of Science (NCLHPhS) and the Belgian Society for Logic and Philosophy of Science (BSLPS)– co- organized biennial Young Researchers Days. Through open call proposals, we typically invite c. 20 young researchers working in Belgium in these three fields, to present their work and engage in communal question rounds.
YRD8 thus offers an unusually interdisciplinary opportunity for young researchers, i.e. PhD students and postdocs, to present their work to a larger community of emerging and established scholars, and to explore how their research can be engaging across disciplinary boundaries. Researchers outside of Belgium are also invited to submit, but priority will be given to young researchers conducting research in Belgium.
On the programme:
Papers will be accepted in English, Dutch, and French. However, the lingua franca of YRD8 is
English, and applicants are strongly encouraged to present papers in this language. Paper presentations should be 20 minutes in length. Each presentation will be followed by 10 minutes of discussion.
Call for papers:
Abstracts of approximately 300 words should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your name, e-mail address, and affiliation should be on the first page and the actual abstract should be on the second page. Your abstract should be anonymised.
20 October 2023. Decisions will be communicated shortly thereafter.
